Here's a simple recipe for homemade grape juice:
Ingredients:
- 4 cups fresh grapes (use seedless grapes if possible)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional)
- Lemon juice (optional)
Instructions:
Wash the grapes and remove them from the stems.
Place the grapes in a blender or food processor and pulse until they are well crushed.
Pour the crushed grapes into a large saucepan and add the water. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the grape mixture cool for a few minutes.
Strain the grape mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean bowl, pressing on the solids with a spoon or spatula to extract as much juice as possible.
Discard the solids and transfer the grape juice back to the saucepan.
If desired, stir in the sugar and a splash of lemon juice to taste.
Heat the grape juice over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved and the juice is warmed through.
Serve the grape juice warm or chilled, as desired. Store any leftover juice in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
