Here is a recipe for making beef pulao:

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups basmati rice, rinsed and soaked for 30 minutes
  2. 1 pound beef, cut into small pieces
  3. 2 onions, thinly sliced
  4. 2-3 green chilies, slit
  5. 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  6. 1/2 cup yogurt
  7. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  8. 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  9. 1 teaspoon gram masala powder
  10. 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  11. 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  12. Salt to taste
  13. 2 tablespoons oil or ghee
  14. 2 1/2 cups water
  15. Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish


  • Instructions:

    1. Heat the oil or ghee in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.

    2. Add the sliced onions and fry until they turn golden brown.

    3. Add the green chilies and ginger garlic paste, and sauté for a minute.

    4. Add the beef pieces and fry until they turn brown.

    5. Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and garam masala powder. Mix well.

    6. Add the soaked rice and mix gently.

    7. Add the yogurt and salt, and mix well.

    8. Add 2 1/2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

    9. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let the rice cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.

    10. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

    11. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot.
