Chicken Lahori is a flavorful and spicy Pakistani dish that is popular for its rich taste. Here's a recipe to make it at home:
Ingredients:
- 1 kg boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh coriander leaves
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken, plain yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, and salt.
Mix well and marinate the chicken for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
Heat oil in a large heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat.
Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes soft and translucent.
Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook until it is tender and cooked through.
Add the chopped tomatoes and green chilies and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
Optional: You can also add some kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) for an extra flavor.
