Seekh Kebab is a popular Pakistani meat dish made with minced meat and a blend of spices. It is usually grilled on skewers and served with naan bread, raita, and chutney. Here's a recipe you can try at home:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. minced beef or lamb
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
- 1 tbsp. coriander powder
- 1 tbsp. cumin powder
- 1 tbsp. red chili powder
- 1 tbsp. paprika
- 1 tbsp. ginger paste
- 1 tbsp. garlic paste
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil, for basting
- 8-10 skewers, soaked in water for at least 30 minutes before using
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the minced meat, chopped onion, cilantro, mint leaves, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, paprika, ginger paste, garlic paste, and salt.
Mix the ingredients well and let the mixture rest for 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
Divide the mixture into 8-10 portions and shape each portion around a skewer, forming a long sausage-like shape.
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Brush the skewered kebabs with vegetable oil to prevent sticking and place them on the grill or grill pan.
Grill the kebabs for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Baste the kebabs with more oil as needed to keep them moist and tender.
Serve hot with naan bread, raita, and chutney.
Enjoy your delicious homemade Seekh Kebabs!
