Ingredients:

  1. 1 1/2 cups basmati rice, rinsed and soaked for 30 minutes
  2. 1 lb chicken, cut into small pieces 2 onions, thinly sliced

  3. 2-3 green chilies, slit 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste

  4. 1/2 cup yogurt 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

  5. 1 teaspoon red chili powder 1 teaspoon garam masala powder

  6. 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

  7. Salt to taste
  8. 2 tablespoons oil or ghee
  9. 2 1/2 cups water
  10. Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions:

Heat the oil or ghee in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the sliced onions and fry until they turn golden brown.

Add the green chilies and ginger garlic paste, and sauté for a minute.
